A full car detail usually combines a thorough exterior clean with a detailed interior clean. There is no universal checklist, though, so “full detail” does not mean exactly the same thing at every business. Read the inclusions and the exclusions, not just the package name.
At Prestige Mobile Detailing, the Full Professional Mobile Detail is carried out by Kamran at your home or workplace, and quoted for your vehicle's type, size and condition.
The Exterior Part Of A Full Detail
Most full details start with the wheels, tyres, paintwork, glass and trims. Across the industry, a thorough exterior clean generally covers:
- A pre-wash to loosen grime before contact
- Wheel faces and tyres
- A safe wash of the paintwork
- Bug and tar residue where needed
- Careful drying
- Exterior glass and mirrors
- Trims, badges and door shuts
Those are typical stages, not a promise of every package everywhere. Some packages clean the wheel faces only; others take the wheels off as a specialist add-on. Some add a short-term spray protectant, while a durable coating needs separate preparation and application. Ask what is covered on your car.
Does A Full Detail Include Paint Correction?
Usually not. A full detail cleans the car. Paint correction uses machine polishing to reduce swirls and scratches in the clear coat. Some premium packages include a single polishing stage, but multi-stage correction is commonly quoted separately, because paint condition and the finish you want vary so much.
Wax can soften the look of very fine marks for a while, but it does not remove them. A genuine correction service should be clearly described, not implied by a phrase such as “paint restoration”.
The Prestige Full Detail does not include paint correction or polishing. If you want more gloss, a one-step polish can be added. For swirls and deeper defects, paint correction is custom quoted by Kamran over the phone.
The Interior Part Of A Full Detail
The interior is often where most of the effort goes, because it has the most surfaces and materials. A full interior detail commonly covers:
- Vacuuming seats, carpets, mats and the boot
- Cleaning the dash, console, cupholders and door trims
- Vents, seams, controls and other tight areas
- The right care for fabric, vinyl and leather
- Interior glass
- Attention to visible marks and light staining
Deeper work such as heavy stain treatment, extensive pet hair, steam cleaning or tracking down a smell takes extra time. Not every method suits every material, and how far it can go depends on what the stain or smell actually is.
Will Every Stain And Smell Come Out?
No detailer can honestly promise that. Results depend on the substance, the material, how old it is, earlier cleaning attempts and whether it has soaked into foam or underlay.
A dark mark may be removable dirt, permanent dye loss or damaged fibres, and each calls for different expectations. A strong fragrance can mask a smell without fixing it. The honest approach is to find the likely cause first, then test a suitable method somewhere hidden.
What The Prestige Full Detail Leaves Out
Kamran is clear about what sits outside the Full Professional Mobile Detail:
- Paint correction or machine polishing
- Iron decontamination
- Engine bay detailing
A clay bar treatment can be included if you ask for it. If you want any of the work above, mention it in your enquiry and Kamran will talk it through.
Work That Is Rarely Included Anywhere
Across the industry, do not assume a standard full detail includes:
- Ceramic coating
- Wet sanding or touch-up paint
- Wheel removal
- Underbody cleaning
- Mould or biohazard treatment
- Permanent odour removal
- Removing fixed seats
- Repairs to damaged leather, fabric or trim
Some of that work is available from specialists, but it needs the right equipment, time and safety controls.
If long-term protection is what you are after, that is a separate service: the Mobile CQuartz Ceramic Coating, quoted on its own for your car.
How To Compare Full Detail Packages
- Exterior scope: are wheels, glass and door shuts covered?
- Interior scope: is it a wipe-down, or a proper detail of every surface?
- Protection: is anything applied, and to which surfaces?
- Correction: is machine polishing included, or quoted separately?
- Condition limits: can heavy staining, sand or pet hair change the price?
- Location: do you take the car somewhere, or does the detailer come to you?
- Aftercare: will you get clear advice on looking after it?
Lining quotes up this way makes a cheaper one easier to judge. A short wash and vacuum and a thorough full detail are different services, even under the same name.
Before Your Appointment
Remove valuables, child seats and personal items unless you have agreed otherwise. Mention stains, smells, water leaks, delicate aftermarket parts or recent paintwork. For a mobile detail, tell Kamran where the car will be parked.
Is A Full Detail Right For Your Car?
A full detail is useful when both the cabin and the exterior need a thorough reset, before a sale or a special occasion, or when you want a better starting point for regular upkeep. If only part of the car needs attention, say so in your enquiry: other custom work is quoted by Kamran over the phone.
